I have had a number of other hardwood knife blocks (when I find one I think is great I’ll give my existing one to family or friends). So I have a lot of experience. If you have beautiful knives and want/need a counter top knife block, buy this one: 1. It shows off blades and handles. 2. Takes up the minimum amount of counter space. 3. The magnetic “assist” is fantastic for a solid feel when taking/returning knives (and no rattling if you have a small kitchen and want/need to move it around. 4. The materials are beautiful in themselves, the craftsmanship is first rate. 5. Seller is on the ball with shipping and packaging, so I’m confident that if I needed any help with the order they would be there.

Really, really gorgeous knife block that was obviously made with love and attention to detail. My husband was being very picky about a new knife block (functionality is his main concern) and this was the first one we could both agree on. I love the beauty of it and the woods used are the same we just redid our kitchen in (cherry cabinets and walnut live edge shelves).
